Ils illustrent de mani\u00e8re saisissante le processus d&rsquo;abstraction successif de la modernit\u00e9, qui m\u00e8ne d&rsquo;une repr\u00e9sentation figurative \u00e0 une description largement abstraite des objets repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s. Dans \u00ab Roses blanches \u00bb, le sujet classique de la peinture pr\u00e9sente encore une composition picturale assez plastique, m\u00eame si la monochromie des tons gris et terre indique les premi\u00e8res \u00e9tapes de l&rsquo;abstraction. Avec <strong>\u00ab Roses rouges \u00bb<\/strong>, on peut <strong>observer pour la premi\u00e8re fois une dissolution cons\u00e9quente du figuratif au profit d&rsquo;une forme g\u00e9om\u00e9trique<\/strong>. Les p\u00e9tales de rose sont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s comme des cercles en rotation sur un h\u00e9misph\u00e8re, le fond est divis\u00e9 en surfaces g\u00e9om\u00e9triques. Ce <strong>processus d&rsquo;abstraction<\/strong> se poursuit dans les compositions \u00ab Roses bleues \u00bb. La plasticit\u00e9 de l&rsquo;avant-plan, auparavant sugg\u00e9r\u00e9e par des ombrages, est d\u00e9sormais abandonn\u00e9e au profit d&rsquo;une construction purement g\u00e9om\u00e9trique et plane.
