La s\u00e9rie de tableaux \u00ab\u00a0Composition abstraite\u00a0\u00bb de 1925 de l\u2019artiste suisse Andr\u00e9 Evard (45 x 45 cm, huile sur panneau de fibres) t\u00e9moigne de son exploration cons\u00e9quente de l\u2019abstraction g\u00e9om\u00e9trique et des harmonies de couleurs. Les trois \u0153uvres reposent sur la m\u00eame structure constructive, mais varient consid\u00e9rablement en termes de couleurs et d\u2019effet atmosph\u00e9rique. Dans la premi\u00e8re variante, Evard travaille avec une palette de couleurs finement accord\u00e9e, compos\u00e9e de tons pastel tels que le rose, le jaune clair, le vert d\u2019eau et des nuances de bleu, combin\u00e9s \u00e0 des accents plus intenses en rouge fonc\u00e9 et en bleu cobalt. Sur un fond noir, les surfaces g\u00e9om\u00e9triques d\u00e9ploient un effet presque flottant, qui rappelle des croquis architecturaux ou des constructions en verre. La composition appara\u00eet po\u00e9tique, fragile et r\u00e9fl\u00e9chissante. Dans la deuxi\u00e8me image, un ton orange vif domine l\u2019arri\u00e8re-plan, tandis que les formes elles-m\u00eames sont presque monochromes en bleu cobalt, noir et nuances de gris. La surface semble plus rugueuse, la composition plus stricte et architecturalement plus massive. L\u2019impression g\u00e9n\u00e9rale est puissante et pleine de tension. Dans la troisi\u00e8me version enfin, une couleur particuli\u00e8rement vivante se d\u00e9ploie\u00a0: un ton jaune chaud en arri\u00e8re-plan rencontre des couleurs primaires telles que le rouge, le bleu et le jaune, compl\u00e9t\u00e9es par de l\u2019orange, du noir et des tons pastel clairs. Malgr\u00e9 l\u2019abondance de couleurs, la composition reste strictement structur\u00e9e, la r\u00e9partition des surfaces rythmique et claire. Il en r\u00e9sulte une impression vivante, presque festive, qui rappelle les vitraux. Dans l\u2019ensemble, cette s\u00e9rie d\u2019\u0153uvres d\u00e9montre la capacit\u00e9 d\u2019Evard \u00e0 cr\u00e9er des valeurs d\u2019expression totalement diff\u00e9rentes par une variation cibl\u00e9e des couleurs au sein d\u2019un sch\u00e9ma g\u00e9om\u00e9trique fixe. Sa peinture recherche un lien harmonieux entre la structure et la couleur, ce qui fait de lui l\u2019un des pionniers les plus importants de l\u2019art concret en Suisse.
