In the same year as “Composition”, the work “Espace et temps” was created, which is very similar in terms of the color spectrum and harmoniously combines figurative and abstract elements.
Here, Evard forgoes a central positioning of the pictorial elements and occupies the vertical central axis with a prism-shaped window. Rather, he places his focus on the right and left side of the picture. In the process, the antique-looking vase, which contains flower-like stems, is particularly noticeable in the lower left of the work, whereas a clock can be seen in the upper right corner of the picture, which, despite its technical construction, is also reminiscent of a flower. Also exciting about this work is that the spatial structure appears splintered and shifts diagonally.
