The pictorial surface of André Evard’s work, rendered in various shades of blue, is divided multiple times. An intriguing difference can be observed between the right and left sides of the image. While the forms and elements on the left still allude to reality-based architectural structures, this reference is no longer present on the right. Instead, this area presents itself as a geometrically patterned surface that stands alone and allows for no further points of reference.
