The watercolor work by André Evard shown here is characterized by strong colors, predominantly blue and various shades of red, and abstracted forms. It depicts two stylized silhouettes, a man and a woman seen from behind, walking across a meadow in the rain towards a mountain range in the background of the painting.

Like his renowned artist colleague August Macke, Evard’s art focuses on the use of mostly strong colors and simplified forms. Furthermore, both painters are interested in the ornamental character of a work and reduce spatial depth in favor of a flat, two-dimensional effect.
