The focal point of this spring-like landscape miniature is a tree in full bloom on a flower meadow, whose branches almost reach the lateral ends and the upper image boundary.
The scenery is rendered in beautiful, differently nuanced shades of blue, as well as green and pink tones, and possesses an ornamental, Art Nouveau character. This is particularly emphasized by the circular blossoms and, in some cases, gold-edged outlines in the meadow, on the tree, and in the clouds.
André Evard marked this work with his monogram “A.E.” and the date of origin “8.4.11” in the lower corner of the picture.
The artist had a penchant for serial work, and so another miniature of this scene from the same year exists, which, however, differs in its pastel-like coloring and a denser image composition.
