In this square composition, Evard relies on a powerful interplay of tonal contrasts. Against a deep, almost black-brown background, curved, arc-shaped lines unfold in cool blue and warm reddish-brown tones. In between, light circular shapes are applied thickly, their cream to ochre nuances clearly standing out from the background.
The composition is characterized by a dynamic diagonal structure: curved bands of lines intersect and divide the surface into rhythmic segments. The light forms seem to be set in motion – as if they were guided or circulated by the curved paths. The combination of strong chiaroscuro contrast, curved lines and varying circular fragments gives the work an exciting balance between constructive rigor and painterly liveliness.
