Below, Evard depicts the mountains in dark tones, allowing them to stand out effectively against the bright background. The painting emanates a great luminosity, and the circularly depicted sunbeams seem to draw the viewer into the image. The depiction appears reduced and suggests that Evard would soon embark on a search for a new formal language.
