La peinture et la sculpture se sont de plus en plus \u00e9loign\u00e9es des formes figuratives pour se tourner vers des formes de repr\u00e9sentation plus abstraites. L&rsquo;art \u00e9tait \u00e0 la recherche de nouvelles formules picturales et les artistes de cette \u00e9poque ont trouv\u00e9 des r\u00e9ponses multiples.<br\/>Andr\u00e9 Evard \u00e9tait particuli\u00e8rement fascin\u00e9 par <strong>des compositions picturales r\u00e9fl\u00e9chies et strictement g\u00e9om\u00e9triques<\/strong>.<br\/>Des signes que l&rsquo;on reconna\u00eet d\u00e9j\u00e0 dans des \u0153uvres ant\u00e9rieures et qui ont conduit \u00e0 une <strong>totale s\u00e9paration de l&rsquo;objet figuratif<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Cette \u0153uvre <strong>concr\u00e8te et constructive<\/strong> d&rsquo;Evard s\u00e9duit particuli\u00e8rement par sa <strong>disposition rythmique<\/strong> des lignes de construction.<br\/>Avec les diagonales qui se croisent, l&rsquo;espace pictural est divis\u00e9 en mosa\u00efque, cr\u00e9ant ainsi une <strong>structure spatiale de formes et de couleurs<\/strong> d\u00e9tach\u00e9e du motif, mais coh\u00e9rente en soi.<br\/>La ligne hachur\u00e9e de traits v<strong>erticaux et diagonaux<\/strong> g\u00e9n\u00e8re un <strong>canon de formes g\u00e9om\u00e9triques<\/strong> de triangles positionn\u00e9s de mani\u00e8re variable. Celui-ci est \u00e9largi par le remplissage partiel en couleur de plusieurs triangles pour former de nouveaux sch\u00e9mas de formes g\u00e9om\u00e9triques.<br\/>Une comparaison avec les \u0153uvres de <strong>Theo Van Doesburg<\/strong> (1883 \u2013 1931) s&rsquo;impose, car il existait \u00e9galement une relation tr\u00e8s personnelle entre les deux artistes, qui se manifeste \u00e9galement dans un \u00e9change de lettres document\u00e9. <\/p>\n\n<p>Van Doesburg a tent\u00e9 en vain, toute sa vie, de gagner le Suisse \u00e0 la collaboration au sein du <strong>mouvement De Stijl<\/strong>, qu&rsquo;il avait cofond\u00e9. Mais ce dernier <strong>a refus\u00e9 avec v\u00e9h\u00e9mence<\/strong>.<br\/>Il n&rsquo;a <strong>jamais voulu s&rsquo;engager<\/strong> et se laisser limiter dans son art. Car Evard \u00e9tait un artiste corps et \u00e2me.
