Nocturne Sketch, 1920

From June 13 to July 22, 1936, this motif, which Evard first sketched in 1920, was exhibited alongside four other paintings (Chardon, 1924; Subtilité 1924, Pyramide, 1925, and Gemme, 1925) in the exhibition “Zeitprobleme in der Schweizer Malerei und Plastik” at the Kunsthaus Zürich. In 1948, he revisited the concept to create two new oil paintings with the same composition.
