Cosmos I, 1956

Cosmos I” depicts a highly constructed form developed from geometric shapes, positioned at the center of the composition. The dominant colors in the circular, concentric-looking areas—red, orange, yellow, and green in smaller segments—create the impression of an internally glowing, energetic core. This color-intensive construct stands out clearly from the deep blue background, which serves as a contrasting surface that enhances the three-dimensionality of the central element.

The formal and chromatic organization suggests a deliberate reference to cosmic phenomena: the painting is reminiscent of an abstracted sun or a stellar construct translated into geometric structures. Small star-like shapes appearing at the upper right edge of the image further accentuate this cosmic interpretation and situate the central form within an imaginary celestial space.
